Welcome, thanks for considering me as your new therapist. I know taking the first step can often be the hardest. If you are going through some tough times at work, home, or in relationships with loved ones or social connections, I can help.
I have experience working with people on a range of issues including stress management, depression, anxiety, compulsive behaviors, trauma, loss, and life transitions. Sessions typically include a blend of developing insights and change-oriented techniques, as you feel ready. I will strive to be attuned to your unique qualities, needs, and dreams. I have worked with LGBTQ people and welcome the opportunity for more. I really enjoy working with couples to clarify and strengthen relationships. Some of the main areas of focus are improved communication, conflict management, and deepened emotional connection between partners.
I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 15 years in Washington, DC and have been providing therapy for about 7 years. I attended The Catholic University of America for my Master in Social Work and James Madison University for undergraduate studies. I also completed Level 3 training in couples therapy under the Gottman Institute. I have lived in Northeast DC since 2002 and enjoy learning to garden in my spare time.
Goodness of fit is important, and I will work with you to set goals and find a pace and style that feels comfortable. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask. I look forward to hearing from you!
